This blog is a collection of random thoughts. I in no way take responsibility for them. They came to me of their own volition, all by themselves. I sure never asked them to intrude on my personal space.
Is it because they torture and behead all their prisoners, when they bother to take them at all?
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I think you might be right! 10 Points to Consul!
ReplyDelete(and by the way, my oral exam is coming up in two months, so I would appreciate any advice you might be able to give me.. :)
The free advice which follows is worth easily twice what you pay for it:
ReplyDelete1. Join the FSOA Yahoo!Group and read-up and Get Smart about the Oral Assessment.
2. Read all the current info at the State website (www.State.Gov) having to do with the FSOA.
3. Get a good night's sleep the night before.
4. Work and play well with others.
5. Dress businesslike and conservative. Black suits (for men) seemed to be the thing when I took it last (although mine was charcoal grey, I still passed).
6. Read over my earlier post on the FSOA (http://consul-at-arms.blogspot.com/2005/12/weekly-special-oral-assessment-dec-05.html).
7. Shine your shoes. Shoes that lace, not loafers.
8. Buy a nice, new white dress shirt for the occasion and have it starched and pressed. There's something about a brand new white shirt that just about glows.
9. Eat something for breakfast that morning. Maybe nothing so heavy you're lapsing into a food-coma during the day, but enough that you're not passing-out from hunger either.
10. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You can email me at the Yahoo addy in the right-side column of my web log.
Thanks, Consul - I have been reading up on the forums, and that's probably how I passed the written, and I did read the other stuff you gave. Thanks for the advice...
